10 Gifts For the Bride Who Loves to Travel

My inspiration for this blog came from a stunning LB Events wedding styling shoot I stumbled upon which had a bold blue VW van as the focal point for the lounge area (header image source: photography by Laura Goldenberger).  These ten gift ideas are the perfect alternative to traditional bridal shower or wedding registry options and will inspire your bride to always take the scenic route.

1.  The ForestBound Weekender

A canvas and leather bag is the perfect accessory for the bride who loves those weekend getaways.  ForestBound, based in New England, makes all of their bags by hand and even offers monograming so your bride can get used to those new initials.  Throw a few outfits and a good book into one of these and escape the house, state, or even country.  Bon voyage!

2. A Vintage Globe

Globes are a beautiful reminder of all of the wonderful places we’ve been.  Get your bride a globe and literally put the whole world at her fingertips!  Inspire her to take her next trip and put a smile on her face when she sees the globe on her bookshelf and remembers all of her amazing adventures.  Shop Etsy or spend a few hours at an antique store to find the perfect globe for your bride.

3. The Will Leather Goods Leather Wine Case

This bridle leather wine case, designed by Will Leather Goods out of Eugene, Oregon, is great for the wine lover in your life.  My fiancé and I walked into the store on Hayes Street in San Francisco and the intoxicating smell of leather was enough to convince us to buy one of these bags for ourselves.  The totes come in eight colors and are all handmade with Italian, vegetable tanned leather.  Will Leather Goods also has a double bottle case for when one bottle just isn’t enough.  Cheers to wine and leather wine cases, both get better with age!

4. Tribe of Dreamers Coin Necklace

This Tribe of Dreamers necklace is one of my favorite accessories.  The front features a mesmerizing collection of Tibetan symbols that represent Hope, Peace, Love and Light.  The back is a poem by Tyler Knott Gregson about being courageous enough to travel the world and follow your dreams.

“Trust our feet and the road we found, these dreams will carry us further than we’d ever believe.”

Your bride can wear the coin on a golden or suede chain as a beautiful reminder to live every day to the fullest!

5. TrinkaCeramics Caravan Jewelry Dish and Ring Cone

The first gift I received after getting engaged was a jewelry dish and I use it everyday!  TrinkaCeramics, from Sunshine Coast, Australia, creates ceramic masterpieces inspired by her love of adventures and the outdoors.  The caravan jewelry dish is funky and sweet with it’s oblong shape, single wheel and golden window.  The ring cones have unique hand etched forest scenes on their bases, some with trees and stars, others with tee-pees and campfires.  These two pieces are the perfect homes for your brides most treasured possession.

6.  Illustrated Book of Maps

Let your bride travel the country, or even the world, from her living room.  These books are three of my absolute favorites and I’ve given them to many friends as gifts.  Maps has a page for each country full of illustrations for every monument and natural wonder, as well as information about activities, animals, and festivals your bride could experience if she visited.  Atlas of Adventures  focuses on an important and fun piece of culture in every region and is great for inspiration if you have a trip planned.  Pages of The 50 States are full of information and fun illustrations for each state in the United States.  Grab one, or all three, off Amazon and brighten up your bride’s coffee table!

7.  A Pair of Turkish Towels

I’m going to let you all in on my new obsession….turkish towels.  They are lightweight, colorful and inexpensive.  I love turkish towels because they are so easy to travel with and, unlike regular beach towels, you can use them as a shawl or blanket when the sun goes down.  I’ve started collecting towels off Etsy in different colors, patterns and materials to use as blankets at the wedding for chilly guests.  A pair would make the perfect gift for the bride who loves being by the water!  Some of my favorite shops for towels are Longest ThreadBurlap and Lace, Pestemal, and Ustaa.

8. Love Your Melon Pom Beanie

Not much is better than giving a gift and giving back at the same time.  Love Your Melon is a startup with an incredible story.  50% of their proceeds go to the fight against pediatric cancer.  To date, they’ve been able to donate over $2.5M because of these cute pom beanies.  How awesome is that?!  With 50 colors to choose from, you will have no problem finding the perfect beanie for your bride who loves to spend time on the mountain or is planning an epic winter vacation.  Grab a cuffed beanie for the groom because we love his melon too!

9. Portland Leather Goods Passport Covers and Luggage Tags

These handmade passport covers and luggage tags by Portland Leather Goods will last a lifetime of travels and are fully customizable.  Our favorites are Travel, Fall in Love, and Be Happy (fitting for a bride) and I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list (fitting for the bride with a sense of humor).  Make sure your bride’s passport and bag stand out among the rest just like she does!

10.  Allbirds

There is a good reason these shoes keep selling out, they are amazing.  Made from superfine New Zealand merino wool, Allbirds kicks are lightweight, breathable and so beyond comfortable.  For brides who ditch wheels and explore by foot, these shoes are the perfect gift.  Black and grey are almost always available but the company usually has a few limited edition colors to choose from as well.  Give the gift of comfy feet and follow Allbirds on Instagram for awesome travel inspiration!
