Last June, I was lucky enough to witness Whitney and Michael Ruano’s beautiful wedding day in Bend, Oregon. These two first fell head over heels at just thirteen and, because true love does exist, reconnected years later and decided to spend forever together. The tagline for the day was It Was Always You.
Meet my gorgeous friend Whitney. A makeup artist by trade, doing her own was a really important and special part of getting ready the morning of her wedding. The bridesmaids joined their bestie and were pretty in pink in matching floral Plum Pretty Sugar robes.
Whitney looked flawless in a Pronovias wedding gown. The dress had a dramatic back outlined in crystals and beads. Her bridesmaids and mother were matching in long gold and blush sequin dresses. Michael and his groomsmen wore stylish tan suits and bright colored socks. When both the bride and groom were ready they sat alone to read the letters they had written for each other before the ceremony.
Whitney did a first look with her father and I’m sure this moment was one they both won’t ever forget.
The girls snapped a few photos before the ceremony, each holding beautiful bouquets designed by Summer Robins Flowers.
It Was Always You read the welcome sign at the ceremony space. The bright blue sky, calm waters and Pronghorn Resort‘s lush greens set the stage and Whitney and Michael stood hand and hand, alongside their friends and family, to say I Do.
The first few photos taken after the ceremony were full of excited energy and love. The wedding party celebrated while the bride and groom help hands and shared a kiss.
J29 Events blew me away with their work to create the reception space. White and pink flowers sprayed out of golden compote centerpieces sitting on mirrored trays. Dramatic blush rosebud tablecloths covered head tables and place settings had gold chargers and flatware. The guests surely felt like royalty dining with the newlyweds that night!
As the sun was setting, the two took their first walk together as husband and wife. Mosca Studio Photographers was there to capture the magic and the photos are truly breathtaking.
