Katie and Bo said I Do on a beautiful and sunny afternoon in American Canyon and I wish I could go back and relive this perfect wedding! I was lucky enough to stand next to this couple the moment Bo proposed, throughout their engagement and on their best day ever. I’m fired UP and ready to share these very special memories on the Engaged Life blog. Special thanks to Amanda Rose and AGS Photo Art for being the sweetest and sharing all of these images.
On Saturday morning, Katie and her bridesmaids got ready in the couple’s suite at The Meritage, a gorgeous resort and spa in California’s wine country. The day was filled with mimosas, pink socks, hairspray and laughter. Special mementos filled the room, including a record Bo made Katie of their wedding songs and two tickets from the Oregon Ducks game where they first met. Bo sent his bride cards every few hours, each had a sweet note to ease Katie’s nerves and put a smile on her face.
Just Jenni Style enhanced the bride’s natural beauty and felt like more of a friend than a vendor. Katie wore a stunning lace Essence of Australia gown with a low back and beaded straps and ivory Badgley Mischka wedges.
The boys got ready in a hotel room down the hall, Bo bought each of his groomsmen stylish Phish socks to wear with their suits and custom, wood bottle openers.
Their wedding venue, Eagle Vines Golf Club, had breathtaking views. The rolling hills, bright flowers and cloudless blue skies made this the perfect place for a wedding.
I’ll never forget watching this first look. Katie walked slowly down the greenway towards Bo, who was waiting with his back turned to her. They stood back to back for awhile holding hands, then Katie turned and gave him a big hug. My favorite photo is the one where Bo sees Katie for the first time and is blown away. The bridesmaids watched from afar with tears in our eyes as they shared their first, of many, wedding day kisses.
One of my favorite personal touches from this wedding were the signs, designed by Paige Script, lining the path the guests walked down to get to the ceremony space. Each one had an important milestone in their relationship with the last being their wedding day! This is such a cute idea and great way to share your story with family and friends.
The ceremony space had two wine barrels and a stunning wooden arch covered in lush white and blush flowers and greenery by The Flower House. Guests were in tears when the couple exchanged vows. Bo’s father did an incredible job marrying them and even gave Bo two chances to kiss the bride when after the first he realized he’d forgotten the rings!
The bride and groom’s guestbook matched their vineyard vibe with wine bottles representing 1, 5, 10, 15 and 20 years of marriage. The guests wrote notes for the couple and chose one of the bottles to put them in. Katie and Bo get to open these messages on each of those anniversaries. Talk about a gift that keeps on giving!
The reception tent had a beautiful wood accent wall, crystal chandeliers and centerpieces overflowing with gorgeous florals. The escort cards were duck cookies, just another way this couple incorporated their love of Oregon into their wedding day.
The bridal party got together for photos under Eagle Vines beautiful archway.
Then Katie and Bo left to explore the grounds and enjoy the sunset. You can tell how happy and in love these two are by the way they look at each other and it gives me all the feels.
Their reception was a blast. The couple learned a choreographed dance and put on a show for their guests. Family and friends drank wine, played cornhole, enjoyed an incredible sunset, and danced the night away. Backstreet Boys karaoke after the cake cutting, the best DJ, delicious desserts by Forget me Not Cakes, and group jumping when Shout came on made this party one we all wish could have gone on all night. This wedding was more magical than I can put into words.
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Wright! You are a beautiful couple inside and out and have years of laughs and adventure in your future. I’m so blessed to be a part of both of your lives and that I got the chance to be a part of this very special day. Go Ducks and welcome to married life!!
