When a wedding coordinator gets married, you know it’s going to be something out of a fairy tale, and Maddie and Matt did just that! Luckily, the bride also blogged her wedding day, so we’re going to share some of our favorite excerpts from her blogs and let her tell their Best Day Ever story! Shout out to Patrick Nied Photography for all of the perfect images he captured of their special day.
“I spent the morning with my bridesmaids, getting our hair and makeup done, drinking champagne, and listening to fun music. We had the most wonderful hair and makeup artists with us, and they definitely added to the fun. Not going to lie, I was a little nervous! It was such a big day in our lives. I’m so lucky I had all of my girls with me. Plus I got them matching rompers! How adorable do they look!?”
SO adorable. We loved the floral Piyama Bridal rompers as an alternative to bridal party robes.
“I must confess, you know how they say that when you are looking for a wedding dress, when you put on the one, you’ll just know right away? Well, I didn’t have that “Ah ha!” moment until my second to last fitting, when the dress truly fit my body! I know it sounds crazy, but for me, the experience of trying on dresses was overwhelming at first! There are so many beautiful styles and so many dresses to choose from, and I remember it being so hard to pick one! Plus, it’s a little hard to envision how it will look when it’s like 6 sizes too big lol. Of course, none even came close to the one I chose. So, if this happens to you, you’re totally not alone! It’s okay if you don’t have that butterfly moment right away. I will say though, I 100% picked the right dress. Now after wearing it, and seeing all the photos, I wish I could wear it for more than just a day! It’s totally unique and stunning! I wouldn’t trade it for any other dress!”
We loved Maddie’s Chic Nostalgia dress from Bellevue Bridal Boutique. The lace panel and back were stunning, and the full skirt stole the show in every single photo. To top it off, Maddie’s oversized bouquet by Flowers by Tiffany was incredible — full of greenery and pink, white and red florals.
The boys shared a glass of Jameson while getting ready. Matt wore an impressive blue suit from ASOS which popped against his red tie. We loved his boutonnière of greenery held together by twine — the perfect finishing touch.
This is the first time we’ve seen the groomsmen wear mix-matched suits and we seriously LOVE the look. The bridesmaids dresses could not have matched the bouquets more beautifully. Two flower girls held monogrammed wooden boxes for their petals. Just before the ceremony, Maddie gives her boho gown a whirl and the photos are perfection.
“One of the best decisions I made was to put my bridesmaids in different colors (of wine! haha) and different shoulder styles! They looked absolutely gorgeous. I wanted to pick a color that I thought would look best for their skin tone and body type. Each girl is totally beautiful and unique. These colors couldn’t have turned out more amazing! The brand, Show Me Your Mumu, is absolutely wonderful. Their dresses are such amazing quality and their prices are affordable. Plus, their bridesmaids dresses come in so many colors and patterns, and even styles!
Also, could not have been more obsessed with our bouquets. I told our florist what colors, and literally told her that since she’s the expert, she can do her thing and just make them look wild and beautiful. I’m telling you, wedding vendors know what they’re doing you guys, they’re professionals. One of the best things to do is to trust them! Let them work their magic!”
DeLille Cellars is THE most beautiful setting for a wedding. Surrounded by tall trees and a pond with a trickling waterfall, this ceremony space is the definition of zen. The aisle was framed by beautiful lanterns, rose petals, and wooden signage by Paper & Pine Co. that elegantly directed guests to their seats.
Before saying I Do, Maddie added a veil to complete her wedding day look and shared quiet moments with her family, including a special moment with her father. The love and pride he feels when seeing his daughter for the first time is perfectly captured in these photos. The bride’s sister officiated under an arch covered in flowers while Maddie and Matt, covered in smiles, promised forever to one another.
“Our ceremony was so special and we had our guests laughing, crying, and clapping. I remember feeling so nervous the whole morning and the instant that I saw Matt standing under the arch from the end of the aisle, I was completely calm. It felt amazing to write and say our own vows too. Of course it’s weird to think that you say them in front of so many people, but I swear it felt like he and I were the only ones there.
I love the look on Matt’s face. He was so nervous too! Mostly because he was terrified of saying his vows in front of everyone. But he was amazing! Can’t believe I’m married to him. It was so fun seeing all of our friends and family sitting as our guests and also standing by our sides. I couldn’t help but glance at our bridal party as I walked down the aisle, they all looked so amazing! By the end of the ceremony I couldn’t believe we were actually married! For so long it felt like our lives were leading up to this moment and it had finally happened. I must say, it’s been a month of married life now, and for me, it does feel different! Yes we already had lived together and moved to a new city together, but now there’s an even more special bond between us. It’s truly amazing.”
After the ceremony, the family and wedding party snuck off for photos. You can tell how incredibly happy and full of energy the entire bunch was. We love when photographers capture the raw emotion of a wedding day. The laughter, tears, and joy truly make it the best day ever. The bride ditched her veil for a playful flower crown of greenery for the reception, a brilliant idea for an alternate look.
Maddie and Matt’s photos as newlyweds left our cheeks aching withing smiles. These two look so incredibly happy to be married. We loved the mix of playfulness and romance, and how the newlyweds ran away to the vineyards for a few private photos.
“It was nice to finally have time alone together after waiting all day! While our guests enjoyed the cocktail party, we used that time to get some awesome bride and groom photos. But don’t worry! Our wonderful wedding planner, Jessica (fromEVENTful Moments), made sure to bring us two glasses of Dom and a small plate of passed apps while we signed our marriage license! So we got in on some of the perks of the cocktail party too. She was the best!”
Let the reception begin!! Family and friends shared dinner in a lofty, white tent. Tables were draped in elegant white linens and favors were the cutest bottles of olive oil. The arch from the ceremony was repurposed and framed the couple’s sweetheart table (such a great idea). Maddi and Matt chose a single-tiered cake and flavored cupcakes from Simply Sweet Cupcakes for the guests.
“I wanted to dedicate a blog post to our reception decor! We were already blessed with such a stunning venue, so a lot of decor wasn’t exactly necessary, but we were so happy with what we chose! I wanted the decor I picked to simply accent the setting we were already enjoying.
We had a beautiful dinner under a white open air tent on the patio of the chateau at DeLille Cellars. The candlelight was romantic, the crisp white table cloths and plates displayed the favors and food, and the greenery on every table made us feel like we were truly surrounded by nature.”
The reception was filled with heartfelt speeches, romantic first dances and a creative white feather send off! For Maddie’s entire recap of her best day ever check out her blog. We are so beyond happy for this couple and loved sharing their Pinterest-worthy wedding day with all of you!! Congratulations you two, enjoy married life!!
