Love is in the Air - A Bright and Enchanting Wedding in Monterey

Alexis and Zac’s wedding day was filled with laughter, dancing, and the most incredible Monterey sunset. They held an intimate ceremony at San Carlos Cathedral before joining family and friends for a lively reception at Bayonet & Blackhorse. First, let’s talk about the bride’s detail shots. From the calligraphy on her invitation suite to her sparkling Jimmy Choos and show-stopping Blue Nile Diamond engagement ring, this bride had some serious style. We also loved her Something Blue Mrs. Box, the perfect home for your wedding bling.

Alexis wore a white satin robe with her maids coordinating in blush with lace trim, while Hair by Lizette and Santana Makeup dolled them up for the day. The girls read sweet cards and opened a chic box to find matching Alex and Ani bracelets inside, an accessory for the wedding day and every day after! They shared a champagne toast with personalized flutes and slipped into their sky blue David’s Bridal bridesmaid dresses before helping Alexis into her gown. The bride’s stunning dress, from Trudy’s Brides, was covered in sparkling beads with a low back and long, gorgeous train.

Meanwhile, Zac and his groomsmen got ready in a nearby room. Zac donned a stylish light grey suit that stood out against his charcoal crew. We love the vest addition and brown leather shoes to complete this classic look. A quick cheers and these handsome men were ready to take the groom to meet his bride!

One of our favorite memories from this wedding day is the father of the bride’s first look. Alexis embroidered a personalized note onto a handkerchief to give to her father when he saw her in her dress for the first time. They both teared up when he read it. What a special moment to remember forever!

This Spanish Colonial-style cathedral is truly one of a kind. Being California’s oldest functioning church and prestigious historic monument, its dramatic entryway was the perfect place for Alexis to start her walk down the aisle to meet her groom. Two hand-painted wooden signs framed the entry: one to welcome guests and the other reading Song of Solomon 3:4. The two promised forever to each other in front of family and friends and shared their first kiss as husband and wife while the wedding bells (literally) rang!

Bright flowers and plants were scattered throughout the property, making the perfect natural photo backdrops. After the ceremony, Alexis and Zac snuck off to enjoy some alone time before reuniting with their fun-loving friends for a quick stroll around town.

A white vintage car with teal interior and Just Married painted across the back window delivered the bride and groom to the reception in serious style. When they arrived at Bayonet & Blackhorse an elegant sign directed them, “This way to love, laughter and happily ever after.”

Sweet first dances, heartfelt speeches, and the most incredible sunset rounded out Alexis and Zac’s best day ever. We hope this couple continues to feel the love and joy from their wedding day each and every day for the rest of their lives together, and that Alexis keeps finding reasons to wear those awesome gold high heels.
