As if Monterey, California’s historic Memory Garden isn’t stunning enough on its own, Raquel and Justin’s vibrant wedding here is too beautiful for words. When AGS Photo Art sent us their Spanish-inspired wedding, we couldn’t have been more excited to recreate this gorgeous day. Raquel’s attention to detail is clearly reflected in their classic white and blue invitation suite from Minted, her cobalt blue Massimo Dutti bridal shoes (we need a pair of these for ourselves), and bold selection of florals by Fleurs Du Soleil. We love how perfectly each design pairs together. With all this color, it’s no surprise the bride rocked a Sasha Primak sapphire engagement ring!
Her sister and best friend helped Raquel slip into her BHLDN Monica Gown, one of our favorites from the collection. The modern lace pattern and beading make this dress the perfect combination of classic and unique. Blush polished Raquel’s voluminous curls with a small bunch of flowers to complement her glowing skin.
Justin spent the early afternoon sipping whiskey and watching football with his groomsmen. He wore a deep navy suit by Suit Supply, fun socks and shiny brown shoes, and a classic gray bowtie he skillfully tied by himself (we’re impressed!). Justin’s guys wore a lighter shade of blue with striped champagne ties and a single white flower on the lapel.
We cannot get over this bride and groom’s first look. Raquel’s captivating smile and Justin’s excitement are a beautiful combination. They stood back to back (AGS’s signature move) and held hands before turning to lock eyes for the first time on their wedding day.
Justin and Raquel chose to take all of their photos before the ceremony so they could spend the rest of their day with family and friends! We love their bridal party’s mixed wardrobe of bright blue and soft pink. The girls wore their favorite BHLDN bridesmaid dress and carried colorful bouquets to match the bride.
After group photos, the bride and groom went on a short private walk before joining their guests for the ceremony. This is probably our favorite little session of the day. They walked down Monterey’s historic Larkin House steps, laughed in front of the coolest wooden door, and stopped for a romantic kiss on the sidewalk, all the while beaming with joy! Have you ever seen bigger smiles than on these two faces?
The airy altar, blue colonial door, and sunny courtyard where the ceremony took place couldn’t be more picturesque. Raquel’s father walked her down the aisle as Peter Chung strummed a sweet song on the guitar. Raquel and Justin gave long-stemmed roses to their mothers and grandmothers, a sweet gesture we haven’t seen before, jumped over a flower-covered broomstick, and shared their first kiss as husband and wife!
After a few family photos, the party began! White Papel Picado hung through the garden, and farm tables were covered with colorful decor including blue goblets, pink votives, and bright floral centerpieces — definitely one of our favorite tablescapes! The sweetheart table showcased wooden Mr. and Mrs. signs laying on a bed of greenery.
Heartfelt speeches had everyone in happy tears and laughter, while DJ Booth kept the newlyweds and their guests dancing late into the night. A full dessert bar and beautiful wedding cake by Freedom Bakery made the perfect late night treat!
What an incredible wedding! We feel so lucky to be able to share Raquel and Justin’s day with all of you. We wish them a lifetime of big smiles and sunny days. Welcome to Married Life you two!
