Jenna and James got married at Luce Loft, a beautiful urban event space located in downtown San Diego. This venue is famous for their chevron wooden door, which makes the perfect ceremony backdrop. Makenzie Reese Photography joined the happy couple, capturing magical moments throughout the day.
Jenna got ready with her bridesmaids in the bridal suite. She wore a beautiful floral robe and her squad rocked blush. Svglamour gave the bride-to-be a gorgeous half-up do with a statement braid and dainty crystal headpiece. Before she slipped into her dress, her mother gave her a pair of pink baby shoes that we’re sure she was saving all these years for this special day. Jenna’s Tara Keely gown was incredible. The dress had a lacy sweetheart underlay, sheer crisscross back and light and airy skirt. The bride completed her look with deep burgundy shoes to match the groom’s bowtie and her rich bouquet by Sugar Rose Flowers.
James and his groomsmen wore the coolest leather suspenders (Okay, where can we get a set?? We love these!!) and black suits. He waited on the rooftop patiently, anxious to see his bride.
Jenna tapped James gently on the shoulder, he smiled as he turned around and gave her a sweet kiss. These two looked so happy together as they walked hand in hand across the rooftop, posing along the way. Their pups, Betty Lou and Paul Ruffere, even joined for a few shoots. The couple called their fur friends flower dogs and considered them part of the wedding party. Burgundy, the color of the night, showed up again in the bridesmaid’s Lulu dresses. Each girl picked out a unique style and held blush rose bouquets with long ivory ribbon.
The ceremony space was packed full of incredible detail. A vintage typewriter, geometric card box, and poster covered in childhood photos sat at the welcome table. The signage was beautiful white calligraphy on painted black wood. The alter was a massive wooden arch, draped in white linen and topped with an epic floral arrangement. Two side tables with mis-matched floral pieces set the stage. To Be Designed and Jane West Events really outdid themselves!
Jenna and James said I Do’s while loved ones watched, reciting heartfelt vows and sharing their first kiss as husband and wife. Afterwards, they joined family outside the space for photos and took a few more on their own, using the trendy brick walls and crosswalks of San Diego as their backdrop.
The reception was held in the same room. Beautiful farm tables had soft white linen runners, bud vases, votives and candles. Greenery was sprinkled throughout. My Marquee SD packed the space full of market lighting and Jane West Events paired up with To Be Designed to design the coolest lounge. The dessert bar was packed full of goodies, including a The Baked Bear ice cream sandwich bar, a wall of Nomad Donuts, and a two tier wedding cake by Baby Cakes San Diego. Lucha Libre Taco Shop catered their dinner and just looking at their menu is making us hungry for delicious Mexican food!
After a regal entry, first dances, and speeches these two partied the night away with family, friends and Ansom Productions. We are so happy for Jenna and James!! Their modern SD wedding was one for the books and we feel lucky to be able to share the images on our blog. Welcome to Married Life!!
