Hannah and Jack had the most beautiful backyard wedding with epic mountain views that we were lucky enough to have Mattie Krall Photography share with us this month!
“On our first visit, we fell in love with Mount Hood, and felt so connected to the area that we knew we wanted it to be apart of our big day. We wanted the wedding to be focused on the beauty of the area, and most importantly, our commitment to each other. Our goals were to keep things simple, and focus on our love for each other, Mount Hood, and our friends and family. My favorite parts of the day were waking up to the sunrise, and getting to see Jack for the first time while walking down the isle. Seeing his face, seeing how purely happy he was, and how it matched exactly how I felt, words can’t describe it!” – The Bride
“We wanted to incorporate the feeling we felt of falling deeper in love, surrounded by the natural beauty of Mount Hood into the ceremony.Just finding the location was the beginning though! At first we thought maybe we would just pile everyone into buses, find a spot, say I do and party! But it’s never just that easy. Hannah poured her blood, sweat, and tears into making this beautiful day happen from 2000 miles away in Chicago. It wasn’t always easy, but the moment I saw her walking down the aisle, I knew it was all worth the effort that we (mostly she) had put into making a day that was exactly what we wanted.” – The Groom
These two are proof that all you really need in order to have the best day ever is a place and the people who mean the most to you! This day starts at the couple’s Airbnb for the weekend, which doubled as their wedding venue. Genius! The bride and bridesmaids wore the cutest matching robes and Whitney Stassi Artistry joined them for hair, makeup and laughter before Hannah slipped into her stunning a&be Bridal Shop gown. The elegant and modern dress had a low back, intricate lace detail and incredible train. Her gals wore shades of blush, purple and gray and Lucy’s Informal Florals designed colorful bouquets to match.
Jack and his groomsmen wore handsome black suits with steel blue ties and blue thistle boutonnieres (our favorite). He walked proudly down the aisle where he stood anxiously waiting to see Hannah for the first time. A beautiful rug set the stage and the mountain backdrop was breathtaking. The sun shined down on the couple as they exchanged vows, said I Do, and shared their first kiss before heading into a crowd of super excited family and friends and popped bottles of champagne! After a few sips of bubbly, family and wedding party photos, the newlyweds snuck off for sunset shots in the backyard and downtown Hood River. It’s hard not to feel warm and fuzzy when looking at pictures of their bright smiles and sweet moments.
Cold beer and tasty wine were waiting for guests at the reception venue, Brian’s Pourhouse. The trendy restaurant is a converted grey bungalow with market lighting and the perfect patio! If you haven’t been to Hood River it’s truly magical and we’re so happy these two found their special place there. Welcome to Married Life Hannah and Jack!! We wish you a lifetime of Oregon beer, mountain sunrises, and trips that will forever change your life!
