Together is a Beautiful Place to Be – A Tropical Wedding in the PNW

Chris and Olivia’s wedding was so packed full of joy and sweet moments, we couldn’t stop smiling looking through photos of this cloudy and tropical pacific northwest best day ever! Kaela Mey Photography was lucky enough to join the bride and groom, as well as their family and friends, to celebrate the start of their next chapter. The first of many heartwarming memories from this day was the location this couple chose to get married at, The Maritime Memorial in Astoria, OR. Her father, who we’re sure was their the entire day smiling down on Olivia the entire day, was honored there and we love how she made him a part of the festivities by choosing this as her ceremony spot.

Let’s start at the beginning. The bride and her babes were joined by Whitney Stassi Artistry and Krystal Rae Hair to get ready. They wore colorful robes covered in bright florals before slipping into one of our favorite Show Me Your Mumu patterns. Olivia wore a gorgeous Stella York gown with a scalloped sweetheart neckline and the prettiest lace detail. Her lips were the perfect shade of pink and she rocked a white and greenery flower crown, but our favorite accessory of hers was that massive smile.

Chris wore a casual grey tux from Men’s Warehouse with a bright tie and and greenery lei. After sampling tasty whiskey with his groomsmen, he walked to the edge of the pier to wait for his bride. Olivia tapped him on the shoulder and then his smile matched hers. They just look so happy.

After the first look, these two walked to The Glam Tram to meet their wedding party for drinks and a quick ride to the first of a few spots for fun group photos. An old boat covered in colorful flags, a massive anchor, and a trendy brick wall were all carefully chosen as backdrops for this giggly crew. They held incredible bouquets by Pacific Coast Floral Design proudly and drank out of cups that said Love, Laughter, and Happily Ever After.

We told you how magical the ceremony space was, and we know these epic pictures probably still don’t do it justice. The moody clouds, the majestic Megler Bridge, the wooden arch covered in palm leaves and tropical flowers. Could a place be any more perfect for I Do’s?

The couple’s pups were escorted down the aisle by wedding party, ring bearers each held signs that together read Happily Ever After, and the flower girls couldn’t have been cuter. Olivia’s mother cried sweetly as she walked the bride down the aisle to Chris. After vows and ring exchanges, these two shared their first ever kiss as husband and wife, and then walked with pure joy back down the aisle while family and friends cheered them on and threw rose petals.

For us, this night ends with just a glimpse of their beautiful reception space, The Loft at The Red Building. But we are certain that every moment was unforgettable. Noho’s Hawaiian Cafe and Mustang Sally’s teamed up to provide delicious food for guests but all the personal and colorful touches in the decor were what made this space so special.

Olivia and Chris, thank you for sharing your wedding day with us. We wish you both a lifetime of laughter, tropical getaways, and perfectly overcast west coast days. Welcome to Married Life.
