Photographer Kayla Willis gives us the inside scoop on Rachel and Luke’s beautiful DIY wedding at Sadie Lakes. This stunning venue is brand new and perfect for a couple looking for a backyard wedding vibe, picturesque views, and the coolest reception barn. Becca from Forget Me Not Events was there to bring this bride and groom’s many special and very personal details together to create a truly unforgettable best day ever. Becca’s mother even did all of the flower arrangements using florals the bride handpicked from a local garden. Her bouquet is one of our favorites to date! So unique with it’s mix of purple, blue, pink and white flowers.
Some of our favorite DIY pieces? Rachel’s mom spent over a year finding each and every chair for the ceremony. And it was so worth the effort. We love the mix of white and wood, some with tall square backs and others with soft round ones. It almost looks like each of their guests brought their favorite seat to sit in and we hope they took a few home to keep around their dining table! It wasn’t just the chairs… All of their wedding decor, from the vintage typewriter to the mirrored trays and bud vases on each reception table were picked up at thrift stores over the year that Rachel and Luke were engaged.
Lastly, can we spend a minute talking about Rachel’s Rue De Seine gown and how incredible she looked in it? We love those flirty sleeves and that braided half-updo. She looked elegant, relaxed and SO in love with her handsome husband who rocked a blue suit and fun floral tie.
This wedding was nothing short of incredible and we can tell that these newlyweds spent so much time making this day a true reflection of their personalities and style. Welcome to Married Life you two! XOXO
