“You have the rest of your life to be married. Enjoy falling in love. When girls get caught up in the timeline, it becomes more about the wedding than the marriage. You should be with someone with whom you could elope this weekend and be happy.” – Lauren Conrad
A moody day Sparks Lake elopement wasn’t Tommy and Carly’s original wedding plan, but 2020 had something different in store. Luckily, the day couldn’t have been more memorable and they had the support and positive vibes of their loved ones all over the country.
Carly’s style is whimsical and unique. She worked with Hey You Flowers to design a dried flower crown with all the best colors of a central Oregon summer. Her DIY bouquet is proof of her creativity, an arrangement of wildflowers, roses and lots of greenery. She chose a BHLDN dress with long lace sleeves and scallop detail. No train and boots made her boho bridal look perfect for the short hike to their ceremony spot.
The overcast day made the lake look like a painting, with colorful tall grass, pockets of icy glacier water, and snow dusted hills in the background. It couldn’t have been a more perfect spot for these two to share vows, their first kiss as husband and wife, and of course, some champagne to celebrate.
I know Carly and Tommy personally and would not have been able to get through this year without them. Their zest for life and smiles are a constant reminder that even when things don’t go your way it’s still a pretty rad world we live in. I wish you guys lots of adventures, epic sunset views that you don’t have to share with anyone else, and an unforgettable wedding reception. Happy Married Life!!
