When we heard the vision Trixy had for her wedding day we knew immediately we wanted to be a part of it. And we are so grateful she chose us! Packed full of unique and colorful accents, copper and bright florals, and the best vendor meal we’ve had all year, this Healdsburg Shed best day ever was one of our 2018 favorites! The very talented Taken by Andre takes us down memory lane with beautiful captures of Trixy and Kevin’s day.
We’ll start off in Windsor, CA at the cutest Airbnb! With a wrap around porch, lush green grass and trendy accents, this was the perfect spot for the bride and groom to get ready and enjoy the entire weekend with family and friends. We love this idea of a home base as an alternative to staying in a hotel. Hair by Missy and Makeup by Adele made sure Trixy was positively glowing, with full lashes, blush cheeks, and an updo framed with the coolest abstract headpiece by Lelet NY. Everyone’s jaw dropped as she stepped into her Lihi Hod gown fromMarina Morrison Bridal Salon. The dress had drop sleeves and the small train was the best for dance moves later in the night. She was absolutely stunning.
Just when you thought it couldn’t get better, The Blonde Bouquet knocks it out of the park with in insane greenery, succulent, and peony bouquet and cute rose collars for the bride and groom’s pups, who met Trixy and Kevin after their intimate first look.
Hold on to your hats. When we enter the Shed’s venue space you’ll be blown away. A modern acrylic welcome sign, handmade by the bride herself (she’s got her own rad business, check it out at Black Thistle Co.) stands at the top of the stairs, covered in garland. Bud vases line the aisles, the ceremony space filled with white metal chairs pointed towards the coolest wooden arbor that Trixy and Kevin made together. The Blonde Bouquet strikes again with king proteas and colorful florals. Wooden tables were lined with copper terrariums filled with blue thistle, blush roses, and unique flowers that even we’ve never seen before! Each place setting had a custom menu (also designed by Black Thistle Co.) and a succulent thank you gift. To finish off the tablescape, the bride asked that agates be sprinkled about. Kevin is a geologist and having elements of stone was important to both of them.
So important, in fact, that they chose to have Moustache Baked Goods design the most spectacular agate wedding cake, topped with a copper sign that read “Treat Yourself”. The cake was surrounded by delicious bite sized desserts on the coolest multi-tiered octagon display. Leave it to a designer to bring something spectacular like this for us to decorate! We would say this was my favorite piece of decor because it was a show-stopper but between the dessert display, signage, florals and the bride’s headpiece we just can’t choose!
The ceremony was short and lovely. The officiant was the bride’s best friend and she did an incredible job (we know you were nervous girl, you nailed it!). Trixy’s mother proudly held her bouquet and sat next to a framed photo of Trixy and her father. We like to think he’s the one who stopped the rain right before their wedding began. It was perfect.
After the ceremony, guests were greeted with champagne. Each glass was topped with an escort card, designed by Trixy of course, which we thought was such a fun way to get the party started and find your seat! After the second course was served, a sleek wooden wall slid open and everyone was surprised and thrilled to see that the kitchen was actually right next to them! Chef put the finishing touches on each plate before it was served while happy family and friends watched.
Thirty people joined Trixy and Kevin for dinner but forty more showed up afterwards for yard games, appetizers and dancing. As the sun went down, twinkle lights sparkled and Lee Francisco of Aim2Pleez turned up the music. Bride Trixy slipped into her white denim jacket with WDHSE, the wedding logo she designed based on her new last name Woodhouse, stitched onto the back. This wedding was packed full of stunning details, amazing vendors and fun-loving guests! Trixy and Kevin, we are so very happy for you two!
