Straight Out Of A Fairytale – A Whimsical Winter Wedding in Banff

Lauren and Kenton’s winter wedding at the Fairmont in Banff was on another level.  Get ready for incredible snowy photos, a grand ballroom reception, and berry-toned florals everywhere.  We asked Lauren what made her choose a resort atop the Rocky Mountains for her best day ever, “Kenton saw a photo of the Fairmont on Instagram and the rest was history. We fell in love with it!” After sharing these photos with you, we know you’ll feel the same as these newlyweds do about this seriously magical place.

Shout out to Jason & Anna Photography for not only capturing the beauty of the space, but also the joy, love, and energy.  Another shout out to Flower Artistry for all of the spectacular floral arrangements in these pictures, including the bride’s bouquet.

Lauren got ready with family and friends in the bridal suite.  Brittany Yturralde put gorgeous loose curls in her hair, while Chelsey Cueva made sure her natural beauty was glowing.  Then, Lauren’s mother helped her slip into her wedding gown: a stunning Blush by Hayley Paige detailed with a lace bodice and full skirt, perfect for twirling on the dance floor late into the night.  Have you ever seen a bride SO happy to be in her dress?  We love these photos.

Kenton and his guys got ready in a second suite.  The groom was spoiled with help putting on his black bow tie, enjoyed a refreshing Delirium Tremens, and finished off his look with a white tuxedo jacket and black pants — perfect for a winter wedding!

At last, the couple met in a sunroom surrounded by windows framing tall snowy trees.  Kenton was all smiles when he saw his beautiful bride for the first time.

Armed with the coziest Pottery Barn fur blanket, winter jackets, and comfortable shoes, Lauren and Kenton followed their photographers outside into a winter wonderland.  These snowy wedding photos are breathtaking.  We loved the sprinkles of snow in Lauren’s hair and the throw she used as a wrap.  Both are smiling from ear to ear as it hits them — they’ve stepped into that Fairmont Instagram photo, and their dream wedding day is coming true!

The ceremony space was rich and colorful.  Elegant floral arrangements were perched at the four corners of the aisle, as though majestically protecting the massive crystal chandelier that hung from the center.

Lauren had happy tears in her eyes as she walked towards her groom with her father.  Kenton’s best friend, Mike Parr, officiated the ceremony while the bride and groom each had their older brothers standing next to them.  The couple elected not to have a traditional wedding party, so what a great idea for Lauren to have her mother, who sat proudly in the front row, hold her bouquet.

The two said their own vows in front of close family and friends and then shared their first kiss as husband and wife.

After the ceremony, the bride and groom grabbed their families and besties for a quick photo shoot.  Guests wore beautiful shades of black, blue, burgundy and gold, adding the perfect warmth to this winter wedding.

The Fairmont was modeled after a Scottish castle, and that’s exactly what the reception hall feels like.  The cathedral ceilings, arched doorways, extravagant chandeliers, and a head table fit for a King and Queen would leave anybody feeling like royalty.  Flower Artistry dressed the long farm table with a runner of greenery and flowers.  Each dinner table had a golden compote, overflowing with blush, berry, and green.  Julianne Young Weddings did an amazing job making the couple’s fairytale dream a reality.

Guests were greeted by sweet maple syrup favors waiting at their place setting.  A single tier cake by Kake by Darci sat on a marble and crystal stand framed by floating candles.  Annnnddd we’re speechless.

Lauren and Kenton entered a room of cheering loved ones to have their first dance.  They twirled, dipped and held each other tight.  After toasts, guests danced the night away with Pez Productions and goofed off in the photo booth with a glamorous gold sequin backdrop.

We are SO happy that this couple was able to make their winter fairytale wedding in Banff come true.  We wish them a lifetime of happiness and hope they come back to this magical place from time to time to take in all of its beauty, and remember their feelings from this perfect day.  Congratulations, Lauren and Kenton! Thank you for sharing your wedding day with Engaged Life!
