Accessories For The Boho Bride

Looking for the perfect bohemian bridal accessory to compliment your dress?  I’ve collected some of my favorites to help make sure your wedding day look matches your eclectic and unique style!

Headpieces

From flower crowns to glittering tiaras, headpieces are a growing trend for boho brides.

Flower crowns add a pop of color to your wedding day look.  I’m getting crowns for all of my bridesmaids to wear on my best day ever and I couldn’t be more excited!  I love bold, bright flowers in a crown but many brides opt for soft pastels, white roses and babies breath, or greenery.  If you’re a DIY’er, make flower crowns with your besties the morning of the wedding while you sip on mimosas!

If flower crowns aren’t your thing, rock a bejeweled headpiece with your wedding dress.  A sweet tiara, romantic comb or boho head chain are the perfect addition (or replacement) to the traditional veil.  We could spend all day on the Hushed Commotion website admiring Thea’s collection of hand-crafted bridal accessories.  Some of my favorites are below, the one on the bottom left is what I chose for my wedding.  I cannot wait to feel like a goddess in the Piper with its gold and blush beading and shimmery ribbon!

Turquoise

Turquoise jewelry is an awesome way to incorporate something blue and keep your bohemian, earthy style. We love the statement pieces, like a chunky necklace, cuff bracelet or oversized ring.  Want to keep it simple?  Choose gold or silver jewelry, with just a hint of turquoise that the camera will surely find!  Our favorites for turquoise are Hand Meets Sky and JordanLovesJames.

Hand Meets Sky features authentic turquoise jewelry from New Mexico.

Leather Jackets

Brides get cold too!  Grab a jacket to wear with your dress once the sun goes down.  My sister wore a flannel to match her rustic wedding and it was adorable.  I’ve seen brides throw on everything from shiny sequin cardigans for a New Year’s Eve reception to oversized throws to keep warm at a winter wedding.

My pick…a custom leather jacket.  Brides look incredible in this stylish trend and I cannot get enough of it.  Fringe on the sleeves is a must for the free spirit.  Already have a leather jacket?  Work with a calligrapher to turn your favorite coat into a masterpiece by adding your last name, a nickname or even flowers to match your bouquet to the back!

Anklets

Maybe you already have a pair of perfect neutral colored heels, something that’s comfortable and stylish and you’d feel great in all night.  The only problem?  You want some bling!  This is your wedding day.  Thanks to Salita Matthews you can wear those favorite shoes, or go barefoot, and still feel bridal.

Salita’s collaboration with Grace Loves Lace shows how gorgeous adding these handmade anklets, decorated with pearls and semi-precious stones, to a high heels, sandals or bare feet.  Show off those legs and manicured toes with a unique and beautiful piece of jewelry!
