Saige of Elizabeth McKenzie Florals made her incredible vision come to life in this bohemian styled shoot at and Kay + Bee beautifully captured all of the color, movement and magic. We’ll let her tell her tell you what inspired her design.
“When I began dreaming up this shoot all I could think of was color. I wanted to showcase that you could use bold colors and unexpected details (such as pheasant feathers and cotton), and when paired with the right details it isn’t overwhelming. The Barn at Riverbend proved to be the perfect backdrop. All of the vendors who came together for this shoot delivered absolute perfection! Everyone was given creative freedom in their area of expertise which allowed for an “outside the box” frame of mind. I feel confident saying that I think what was created was the perfect blend of the modern, boho, and timeless bride.”
We loved the mix of color in the floral arrangements, from soft pinks to peach and purple. These flowers decorated the tabletop, wrapped around one of the barn’s wooden beams, and were bound by Illume Silks ribbon into a bold bouquet. Model Catherine Strehlow wore the most incredible Bride. gown with a flowing skirt and criss-cross back. Mikayla Perks gave the bride soft lips, glowing skin, and romantic curls that moved as the dress did when she walked.
The tablescape was an explosion of texture and color, with Ultrapom providing the rentals and Blue Thistle Cakes designing a four tiered showstopper. The asymmetrical florals that decorated this cake and the mix of semi-naked and iced tiers were two very unique features to this wedding day dessert. Sail and Swan created one of our favorite details from the shoot, the invitation suite. The mix of round and square frames, the floral accents, and the combination of romantic cursive and modern fonts. Just stunning. Enjoy all this Pinterest-worthy inspiration and happy Engaged Life.
